Meet Tom

A friend who rolls into every adventure

Tom is warm, curious, playful and honest. He uses a wheelchair — but that is not what makes him Tom. He is a storyteller, puzzle-solver and designer of imaginary vehicles that can go almost anywhere.

Tom is a kind, curious adventurer. His wheelchair helps him move and join the adventure.

Who Tom is

Adventurous, thoughtful and wonderfully real

On some days Tom is ready for an adventure. On other days he feels nervous, left out or misunderstood. He shares the big grins and difficult mornings because both can be part of a good life.

Tom’s wheelchair is part of his independence and imagination. It can become a racing car, submarine, time machine or spaceship — but it is also ordinary mobility equipment that helps him move through the real world.

Tom has good days and hard days. He uses his chair to move and explore.

Tom’s world

Family, friendship and everyday adventure

Tom’s stories begin at home with Sarah, Mum, Dad and the people who listen to him. His adventures then open into history, mystery, wildlife, travel, music, technology and imagination.

A clear boundary

Tom helps begin conversations

Tom is not a therapist, doctor or replacement for parents, teachers, carers, support workers or professional care. He shares stories, choices and safe prompts that encourage real-world connection.
